Judylab Research

The research performed at UCLA has two major thrusts. One thrust is in the field of miniaturization technologies (e.g., micromachining, MEMS, nanomachining, and NEMS) and the other thrust is in the new field of neuroengineering. For some projects, both thrust are involved (i.e., neuroengineering projects involving MEMS technology).

UCLA MEMS Research Laboratory

The primary focus of our MEMS-based research efforts is on micro-/nano-actuators, micro-/nano-sensors, and micro-/nano-systems that are enabled by magnetic and electrochemical physics. Additional efforts are directed at novel micro-/nano-fabrication processes and chemical sensors.

UCLA Neuroengineering Research Laboratory

This part of the lab is dedicated to applying state-of-the-art engineering technologies to enhance brain research and the treatment of neurological disorders. The engineering technologies being employed include micromachining, MEMS, microfluidics, microprobes, microprobe arrays, microcoils, integrated circuits, and embedded networked sensors. Additional efforts are directed at improving the performance and reliablilty of established neuroengineering applications.
